Being Fashionable while traveling does not always mean you need to have 3 suitcases full of shoes, clothes and accessories.
With careful planning having 2 or 3 statement pieces (a bag/shoes/hat/jewelry) might make the difference if you want to take an ordinary outfit to fashion forward.
We all want to look fabulous when we are traveling to international cities or exotic locations. The typical bare face with sneakers and backpack look is not always the photos we would like to hang up on our walls. (Unless you are hiking the Andes or Kilimanjaro which is basically the only time it will be excused) ;-), there is no excuse for not looking fantastic in your holiday photos.
I am not saying pack yourself a wardrobe that will make a Vanity Fair Stylist jealous…it just takes clever planning and choosing the right accessories to look great.
With a love for fashion and photography we took to the streets of Venice on a recent trip to show exactly what a high heel, a hat and a statement neck piece can do. These 3 items can easily be used to spice up a jeans & t-shirt look or take a plain dress to a wow dress. A hat is also a must have accessory for a more edgy feel to your look.
When you pack, be sure to pack a heel that can be versatile…meaning it needs to fit with most of the outfits/clothing in your suitcase just to save some space.
I took a pair of heels with on this trip to Venice, mainly for the purpose of doing this shoot, in general traveling to Venice in particular, this shoe would have been overkill, especially here, since it would be wise for your footwear to be comfy and have some grip. Traveling to other destinations where you know there will be dress-up occasions then a pair of heels is a must.
Jewelry can easily fit into your make-up bag or in between your clothing. A hat you can wear on the plane if you do not want it squashed in your suitcase.
Spice up your look with a funky pair of sandals or pumps.
A red lip spices up any outfit, be sure to pack your shade into your make-up bag.
The outfit that I am wearing is as follows:
Dress by: Zara Tygervalley Cape Town
Necklace: Lovisa jewellery Canal Walk Cape Town
Shoes: Leather tie up from Woolworths
