Relaxed, Rejuvenated, Energized..
The last words resting on you heart when you walk away from “The Last Word”…
The “Last Word” is collection of Boutique Hotels, owned by the Intimate Hotel Group, scattered over the Cape region residing in Franschhoek, Constantia and Long Beach, Kommetjie. Each Boutique Hotel offers an unique experience combining nature and luxury.

We know it’s a cliché when you say this but these are truly “hidden gems” upon our arrival we were sure we had the wrong directions when we spotted a black board saying “The Last Word” it kind of felt magical, mysterious and exciting as you didn’t know what waited on the other side. Like you needed some sort of secret code to enter this magical place. Behold when the gates opened, a hidden gem revealed itself.. We are spilling the beans and revealing the secret, here is what happened “on the other side of the black board”
Our first stay was at “The Last Word” in Constantia. This sister boutique hotel boasts with eleven exclusive rooms all nestled in a hue of greenery and lush gardens. There is a family suite (Main bedroom with King Bed, 2nd bedroom with twin beds, a separate lounge area with a flat screen and Nintendo Wii – winning! Each room has their own TV’s with a complimenatry coffee and snack bar.
There are two beautiful elegant suites with a separate lounge and bathroom area, two pool suites with a separate lounge, private garden and pool! Four superior double rooms with their own private patio’s. Each room is tastefully decorated in a classical, chic style.

What did we love about our room?
The under floor heating, it was cold outside, but we felt so warm and snug in our room (we didn’t want to leave). The beds.. Oh the beds… I asked the lady if I could buy the bed #facepalm. It is one of those that wraps around you, like giving you a much needed warm hug, you just want to stay there!
And of course the private garden and pool area makes this a great option for a romantic getaway – Guys pay attention – this is a hint!

I loved the breakfast area and this is not just your normal breakfast area, it felt like you were sitting in the garden. With bright open glass windows flowing into the luscious garden surrounded by floral smells, breakfast in Summer is definitely on my list here!

The wonderful thing about a boutique hotel with a limited number of rooms is the incredible personal bond you form with the staff and fellow guests. Each morning we were greeted by name (and not just asked for your room number as per normal hotel #cringe). This already made us feel so welcomed and special. Everything is tailored for each guest.
From private chauffeuring to personalised itinerary planning, be assured of a tailor-made experience enveloped in peace, space and time.
Our fellow breakfast neighbours from Germany looked at us and said, you guys are so lucky to have such beautiful places in South Africa. I could feel my heart swell with pride, lifted my chin and said “I know, thank you”.
Thank you to the “Last Word” in Constantia and Long Beach, Kommetjie for hosting us and giving us the opportunity to share your beautiful sanctuaries with our friends, families and followers!

Till next time from a warm and snug bed, overlooking the ocean in Kommetjie xoxo
