The LE KAP LIFESTYLE FAIR brought together fine Wine, Food, Fashion, Showjumping and beautiful Cars for all to enjoy.
On Saturday 9th of November 2013 the inaugural LE KAP LIFESTYLE FAIR, an annual event co-owned by VIVID and Le Mag Publications, took place against the picturesque backdrop of the Lourensford Wine Estate. Presenting a curated selection of gourmet foods paired with fine wines, an exclusive Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar, Glenmorangie Whisky Lounge, Nespresso Coffee Bar, KitchenAid demo kitchen, an exclusive Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show by Cape Town Fashion Council, sumptuous décor and styling by Pavilion Interieur, and a musical kur exhibition and show jumping competition.
Celebrity guests of the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair included Natalie Becker, Leigh-Anne Williams, Katlego Maboe, Kim Cloete, Kelly Parkhurst, Bjorn Steinbach, Ryan O Connor, and Tracey Lange. Guests on the day were also delighted by sumptuous food from celebrity South African chefs, PJ Vadas (Vergelegen Estate), Brad Ball (Bistro1682 at Steenberg), Gustaaf Boshoff (Stirfood), Bertus Basson (Overture Restaurant), and Grégory Czarnecki (Waterkloof Estate). Each chef created a gourmet dish in the custom designed KitchenAid exhibition kitchen, and guests of the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair were able to engage with the chefs whilst they shaped their dishes.
The Cape Town Fashion Council presented the work of four established and emerging fashion designers, Stefania Morland, Jagadi Couture, Doreen Southwood and Michelle Ludek. Guests were treated to the exclusive and innovative ramp show on the wine estate’s scenic terraces that added an element of glitz and glamour. Unique to Le Kap Lifestyle Fair, guests were able to shop the designers’ runway collection retailed at the Cape Town Fashion Council pop up stores.
A bespoke Nespresso Coffee Bar offered guests a pick me up during the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair both in the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair’s VIP Lounge and Theatre of Gourment. The Nespresso concept has redefined the way millions of people enjoy their espresso coffee today and has shaped the global coffee culture.
Princess Diamonds added a flair of excitement to the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair by giving away a pair of diamonds earrings to a lucky guest on the day. Each hopeful winner had to purchase a glass of Moët & Chandon in order to be entered into the give-away, and each glass had a diamond replica with one diamond different from the rest.
The Imperial Collection group brought together two of the finest luxury automobiles in South Africa, the flagship new Bentley Flying Spur and Bentley Continental GT in to the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair which gave Le Helderberg residents a rare opportunity to get up close and appreciate the sublime combination of luxury and technology these two automobiles provide.
In keeping with the good life, Broadcast partner SABC 3 South Africa’s leading lifestyle broadcast channel and the NH Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West entertained two lucky competition winners in grand style as they sampled everything that the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair had to offer on the day. They were transported to and from Somerset West courtesy of UBER, everyone’s Private Driver that is evolving the way the world moves by seamlessly connecting riders to drivers through an app.
The Le Kap Lifestyle Fair hosted the exclusive launch of the latest KitchenAid range of appliances in the KitchenAid demo kitchen. Guests were offered delicious complimentary waffles and smoothies throughout the day specially made by KitchenAid. The Wings Group offered guests a pop up candy store for all to enjoy.
Hot on the heels of international food trends, the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair also hosted a number of gourmet food markets and food trucks, including LOTUS Food Truck, The Grubbery, Stir Food, Die Wors Rol, and Tebb’s Kitchen who gave a fresh take on old favourites and complimented the range of wines on offer during the course of the day.
Perfectly complimenting the activities of the day was a 6-bar Showjumping competition and Musical Kur exhibition that entertained both adults and children alike. This unique combination of popular lifestyle activities proved to be a great success in a region renowned for their equestrian lifestyle pursuits.
